About Toolratio
Free calculators, built to give you a straight answer in under a minute.
What Toolratio is
Toolratio is a small collection of free, fast financial calculators — for savings and borrowing, freelance pricing, and travel budgeting. There's no sign-up, no account, and nothing to install: pick a calculator, enter your numbers, and get a clear answer with a visual to back it up.
Who it's for
Toolratio is built for three kinds of decisions people actually search for help with. Individuals planning savings goals, a mortgage, or a monthly budget. Freelancers and independent contractors figuring out what to charge and what they'll actually take home. And travelers building a trip budget or converting currency before — and during — a trip. Each calculator is deliberately narrow and specific, rather than one confusing all-in-one tool.
How it works
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your numbers are never sent anywhere, stored, or tracked — the moment you close the tab, they're gone. That's a deliberate choice: financial numbers are personal, and a calculator doesn't need an account or a server to do arithmetic and draw a chart.
The site itself is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no framework and no build step, which keeps every page fast and easy to audit. The one exception is Chart.js, used for the small visualizations on each result, bundled directly into the site rather than loaded from a third-party server.
A note on accuracy
Every calculator on Toolratio is built around a standard, well-established formula (compound interest, loan amortization, and so on) and tested against hand-calculated examples before publishing. That said, results are estimates for general informational purposes — they don't account for your full financial picture, and they're not financial, tax, or investment advice. For decisions that matter, use these tools to get oriented, then talk to a qualified professional.
